Currently, my favorite site is actually a number of sites owned by the same people. It's the Tuts+ suite of sites.
Tut+ sites are a set of sites that are completely dedicated to tutorials on a number of artistic development software, with each area having it's own subsite dedicated to it. So, there is photoshop tutorial site, an audio software site, a website developer site, an video After Effects site, an illustration site, etc. It's all pretty sweet.
I use the photoshop and audio tutorials a lot, only I don't have even a fourth of the programs they list on audio tuts, so it's more like I just look at it to wonder what I would do if I had that equipment. But still, it has some good stuff about the basics of recording. In addition, a lot of free loops for garageband and whatever. The photoshop site has a lot of free brushes and textures, etc.
